As a Japanese sushi lover that prefers sashimi and nigiri, rather than rolls, this is my go-to spot in Phoenix. It is in Scottsdale, and a small format mom & pop restaurant run by a Japanese family, and this place gets very very busy especially on the weekends, so make a reservation at least a few days in advance. Try sitting at the bar and order something you've never tried.

True Japanese sushi!! This is one of the local favorites for decades, very small and quaint and there usually will be a short wait most nights.
