The Zona Romántica, also called Old Town, is a great area to explore in downtown Puerto Vallarta. Zona Romántica is a trendy area filled with lively local, expat and LGBT bars, plus restaurants serving global fare. Quaint courtyard cafes and contemporary art galleries sit alongside boutique hotels on cobblestone streets. The popular Los Muertos Beach draws locals and visitors to its broad, curved pier, which lights up at night. Lázaro Cárdenas Park hosts the Olas Altas Farmers Market in winter and spring.
