"The August Place to Be" - historic racetrack located on Union St in Saratoga Springs. Catch all the excitement of professional Grade I, II, III horse racing mid-July to Labor Day. After the races, visit downtown Saratoga for boutique shops, dining and museums.

On a busy weekend, gates open as soon as 7am for you to save a table. All you need is a table cloth or cooler to reserve your picnic table. Some weekends you will need to RUN!! Take the backstretch tour. It’s fantastic! Skip the breakfast buffet and bring your own breakfast picnic. It’s a great experience to watch the horses warm up in glow of the morning sun. There is one free parking lot across from the Union Ave entrance. You’ll need to arrive early though! Avoid the parking hassle and take the free tram. If you don’t know how to bet, ask an employee. They love to help. You don’t need to dress fancy, but you can if you want to! Skip the fast food options. Instead, bring a picnic! I’d suggest subs from Romas (might come up on Google as Cardona’s). Call to preorder because the line can be up to 45 minutes in the summer. The track is surprisingly family friendly. Even a playground for younger kids.
