Many people don't realize that inside this Asian supermarket there’s a Vietnamese deli that sells amazing Vietnamese sandwiches. The "Banh Mi Vietnam" is my favorite, loaded with deli ham, pork loaf, pork belly, headcheese, creamy pate, pickled carrots and daikons, fresh cilantro, cucumbers, and jalapenos. It's $6 well spent. It's close to the 16th and Mission BART station, so ideally located if you’re out in the Mission and want a bite before you get on BART. They also have terrific spring rolls, green papaya salads, and fresh coconuts for drinking.

Local grocery for cheaper groceries. Excellent asian and mexican groceries and bahn mi sandwiches, produce is usually a bit on the ripe side so good to go the day you are cooking.

Anything you need grocery/beer.wine. Half a block away. And awesome Bahn Mi at the deli.

This is the less expensive market of choice. Still lots of organic items, but doesn't have the polish of Bi-Rite.
