Technically in downtown rather than in North Portland, but if you are up for some spooky Portland history, take a tour through the underground Shanghai tunnels. Get a group of friends together and learn about the darker side of Portland’s history, discount tickets are offered for students and the tours around Halloween are not to be missed.

I've never done this tour, but have heard good things from friends. The Old Portland Underground, better known locally as the Shanghai Tunnels, is a group of passages in Portland, Oregon, United States, mainly underneath the Old Town Chinatown
