Be transported to the wilds of Africa from the comfort of your home. We'll meet some of the members of an African snare removal and research team and some of the animals they've dedicated their lives to saving. During this live online experience, you'll help find, catalogue and remove snares and traps used by poachers to catch and kill wildlife. We will delve into the African poaching saga and learn about what it takes to become a world-class wildlife researcher in Africa. Together we will journey to the Cradle of Human Kind in South Africa, which isn't just home to some of the oldest hominid finds in the world but also plays host to wildlife poaching in a unique, "urban" setting. From the land of our ancestors, we will travel north to a 220 000 year old meteorite crater to understand how traditional beliefs and community development can affect wildlife poaching. After clearing the snares from this geological wonder of nature, we will be whisked across the continent to the rain forests of east Africa where our team will visit with our closest "relatives". We will explore these lush, dense rainforests in search of poachers snares to make sure wildlife such as chimpanzees, elephants and leopards don't fall victim to these tools of destruction. Finally we will learn how poachers are changing their ways and turning to conservation and of some ways you can save Africa's wildlife. Other things to note This experience includes videos which are best viewed on a computer screen with a stable internet connection. We will be discussing wildlife poaching so there will be pictures of injured or dead animals which may disturb sensitive viewers (nothing too graphic I promise).

A history tour of Soweto where political Icons lived during Apartheid fighting against the regime. By walking you will get an idea of the everyday life in the townships, young talents and the Morden culture. Starting at the Hector Pietersen Museum, we will talk first about the Soweto uprising that transpired in 1976, which was one the turning point of apartheid. I will then introduce you to the famous house of Nelson Mandela in Vilakazi Street, built in 1945 where he lived until he was imprisoned for 27 years. We will then have a conversation about Arch bishop Desmond Tutu in the famous street in Vilakazi Street. Continuing through Orlando East the first formal settlement of Soweto & Orlando Stadium, Soweto football giants, the Orlando Pirate and making local by riding a minibus taxi to our last stop at the Orlando Towers. We share many personal stories about our family's generations, how apartheid had an impact in each and everyone of us, and how Soweto has changed today. Lunch Included : Kota (Local burger) Other things to note Regarding safety, people in Soweto are already used to tours and mostly appreciate foreigners coming to experience their community.

On this Street art walk i pay dedicated attention to the world of graffiti, i focus on different levels of graffiti and share unique aspects that are invisible to people who don’t have any affiliation to the art world of the streets. Visitors get a wider knowledge of why the graffiti artist are motivated to do what they do as i give you an in depth explanation of some of the pieces. Graffiti artist are now formal and informal revivers to derelict spaces around Joburg or wherever there's a seemingly mundane culture, with rich stories and history that no one pays attention to. Street art fills up the void, it is that missing culture that is needed to bring life to an environment, it is an expression of thoughts in imagery and the freedom of different minds, who express themselves through spray painting walls and telling different stories. I've been a part of the 4 elements of the hip-hop movement from a very young age so you'll be walking with an insider. We'll start our experience at one of Soweto's original pubs and currently the trendiest hang out spot for locals. we will then get on our bikes and explore the rich history of Soweto. Starting in Vilakazi street, home to 2 Nobel Prize winners, Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. We will then cycling to the Hector Pietersen Museum to learn more about the role the youth of 1976 played during apartheid in South Africa. We will make a stop at a local Café, before cycling the vibrant streets of Soweto again making our way to other sites such as the Orlando Stadium in Orlando East. Here, we will get to understand how Soweto came to be, and what important events took place. We will also see where Nelson Mandela used to train boxing. We will then cycle to a local brewing company for a refreshing beer tasting and history of the brewery, before making our way back to where we started for lunch which is a Kota (township burger ). We will teach the local lingo cause everywhere we go, locals will want to have a little interaction with you.
