favorite italian restaurant in the city, super crowded and buzzy in the night time. no reservations. their truffle mushroom pasta is the best thing i've ever tasted. fresh pasta is a great reason i keep coming back to this popular joint.

its an izakaya, so kind of like japanese shared small plates. you order an array of things to try and taste. the staff here are SUPER friendly and my sister in law used to work here so she tells me the chefs and all wait staff are all japanese so its a pretty authentic Japanese experience in Toronto. Try the Mushroom stew in pot, and the torched sushi. I also love anything sea urchin but it depends on how adventurous you are. Theres nothing else quite like it in Toronto. Its like the popular spot Guu Izakaya but much more refined. Also the japanese slot machine arcade games downstairs by the washroom are super unique.

very unique "fusion" dim sum chinese restaurant just north of the city. If you're driving its SUPER easy to get to from my place, about 30mins should take you there and the whole surrounding area of Richmond Hill is where you'll find all the best asian food in the city (dont eat chinese food downtown toronto if you can go 20-30mins north to Richmond Hill instead). Try the jumbo shrimp Siu Mai, and the steamed angus beed rice rolls, Deep fried taro with quail egg is a favourite as well. If you are super asian and you can eat Durian, the Deep fried durian pastry is loved by like everyone who can stand it lol

theres a small museum in the power plant building here but the key is to take a long walk along the lakeshore harborfront, just walk towards the water! Theres a great path for dog walkers and runners alike, awesome views, lots of parks, play areas, docks and sail boats here. Super romantic at sunset

Parks & Nature

surprising little spot just east of the city, you can get there easily driving, or use our wifi to map your bus route there. NOT recommended to uber/taxi there as it will be expensive in toronto traffic, heading out of the city. There are trails that lead to a lookout on a cliff that will make you forget youre in the middle of a metropolitan city. The views are breathtaking and its a super not-typical thing for tourists to do but I promise it will be well worth your time.

an outdoor outlet mall a little ways out of the city, on the way to niagra falls. tons of great shopping here. not many food options though so either pack a lunch before you go or be prepared for food court style meals
