Guidebook for Vancouver

Sometimes our weather isn't the best, but in case you decide to explore anyway, here are some recommendations! Close to us, the Columbia Springs Fish hatchery is a fantastic 1930's vintage park and reserve that's just 1 1/2 miles east of us on SE Evergreen Highway. One of our favorite places to bike to, hike around in, and just hang out and explore. https://www.columbiasprings.org/ And just one block to the west of us is the Jane Weber Arboretum, you can walk there in about 5 minutes by going west on SE Evergreen. https://www.facebook.com/WEBER.EVERGREENARBORETUM/ And our recently completed waterfront near downtown Vancouver is spectacular and very worth seeing: https://www.visitvancouverusa.com/things-to-do/the-waterfront-development/ Further away, I'd recommend the Columbia Gorge (Stevenson, WA is a charming little town about one hour away on SR14 - great views the entire way). And if you have time, the 1 1/2 hour trip to Cannon Beach and several of the amazing beaches just to its south (Arch Cape, Short Sands, Neahkani, etc) are breathtaking. If you're more interested in indoor activities, I'd strongly recommend the Portland Art Museum, or OMSI, both are amazing and a great way to spend an afternoon. https://portlandartmuseum.org/ https://omsi.edu/ Hope you have a great time either way!
