Parks & Nature
It is great for surf (high waves) and windsurf (strong wind) - if you want to relax at the beach only there is a small beach next to it nearby/south of Arriba which should be less windy or check out beaches closer to Cascais which are by the river and not the Atlantic ocean (water will be warmer, too)

The devil's cave is nice to watch and you can take a stroll from here to Guia or Cascais center. It can get very high waves in winter - beware.

Cascais central beach - can get very crowded in summer. It is lovely, as are the surrounding beaches.

Cascais central beach - can get very crowded in summer. It is lovely, as are the surrounding beaches.
It is the most occidental point of Europe and walks are very nice on the cliffs. Tourist buses still come here, though it is less known as more remote.

Getting Around
Line takes you to other beaches and cities along the coast to Lisbon (40min): Estoril (5min), Belem (30min) and Carcavelos (13min) to name a few. In Belem explore Portugal's age of exploration and learn about the role of the Jeronimos monestary and Torres de Belem. In Estoril, stop for the casino, there may be a festival going on in front of the park. Carcavelos is the first beach outside of Lisbon and many go here (beach is 1km from station), though as a local I will always favour Cascais's beaches. In Lisbon you arrive in Cais do Sodre one of the most central points of Lisbon for your sightseeing and nightlife.

It's nothing what you would expect after seeing the three castles in Sintra. Enjoy the gardens and hidden places more, the house may be a disappointment once you enjoyed the park as it is more simple. Concerts are played here in the evenings from time to time. Apart from the actual house, one of my favourite places.

it is a picturesque historic town centre and worth while just a stroll through the narrow streets and shops - please be aware the map shows the current and not the historic town center, which is next to Palacio National. It is a short walk 10-15 min from from the pin to the historic center.

It is beautiful and different to the three palaces normally advertised. One of my personal favourites.

You can sit in or outside. The climb is steeper than to the other restaurants as they are just a little bit further up the narrow paths, your experience should also be more local and less touristy ;-)

Friendly and good Portuguese restaurant at the coast overlooking the Atlantic ocean. It is popular amongst locals and tourists. Great to sit outside on the terrace during the day, in the evening they have blankets or sit inside, the view is still there.

Indoor market selling regional fresh produce. Tired after shopping for dinner? Have lunch in one of the restaurants next to it on Rua Padre Moises da Silva. Sometimes festivals are also going on outside.
