Great long sandy beach with plenty of access points, places for parking and various snack bars and restaurants along the way.
One of the prettiest places in Lagos to visit. From the cliff top you can look down at the beautiful cliffs and grottos and look further out for the views over to Meia Praia and, on a clear day, many further miles around the coast. For the energetic there are steps that will take you right down to the base of the cliffs where the view of the grottos is magnificent. Be aware though that the walk back up the steps can test even the fittest.. A well placed ice cream seller, half way up (or down) (or both) is a good place to stop for breath.
At the cliff top area there is a couple of small souvenir shops and also a couple of restaurants for a well earned coffee or snack. There is also a reasonable parking area but it can get quite busy in the main summer months.
Anyone wanting a closer view can find boat trips easily available all around Lagos Marina.

Farol da Ponta da Piedade

A great water park and our personal favourite. Many rides and flumes together with splash pools suitable for very young children. Plenty of space for sitting and watching the activity should you prefer, together with various places to get food and drinks. Arrive early to get the pick of seating spots, especially at the weekends.

Plenty to do to keep you occupied for a whole day with shows to see, exhibits to walk around, a small water park and swimming area and much more. Get there early to enjoy a full day.

Great little crazy golf course of either 9 or 18 holes. The 9 hole is suitable for very young children, the 18 hole suits just about anyone of any age. Great for a couple of hours entertainment

Essentials
Nearest Supermarket to the apartment with all the essentials and more besides. Local take on the modern Supermarket and well worth going to. Also a great little coffee shop that is excellent value for money. Remember a 1 euro coin for the shopping trolley though!

Sightseeing
The most westerly point of The Algarve, Sagres is well worth a visit to Cabo Sao Vicente, the Sagres Fort, the working fishing harbour and then have lunch in the small town. Be aware though it can get very windy, especially in the area of The Fort

For a relatively small fee (just under 4 euro - Oct 2016) you can get entrance to the castle, entrance to the Museum of Archaeology and also a small taste of the local wine. Great value
