This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the city. I have literally eaten more than 500 super steak burritos from here. I cannot recommend it enough. They're also famous for their fish tacos. Great decor and a salsa bar!

Cafe St Jorge

I found this place by accident one night doing touristy things with my parents in Fisherman's Wharf. It was a spectacular find and has become a tradition now when my parents come back to visit. It's a very nice, small Etruscan restaurant owned and run by the chef. He'll come out to talk to you after your meal to make sure everything was delicious (it was, I assure you). Great wine selection, too. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Great BBQ. The brisket is to die for. Make sure to put some molasses sauce on basically everything (get the mashed potatoes and put the sauce on them!). They make some really good hot sauces, too. Has beer on tap.

Glen Park BART station is just a 7 or so minute walk away. Jump on this to get downtown in about 10-15 mins. Also, this would be the station you'd get off at if you're looking to take public transit from SFO.

The Castro is just an amazing, vibrant, colorful, and interesting part of town. It has everything you can think of from bars to restaurants to shopping to sightseeing. Highly recommend taking a day to hang out here. This is also San Francisco's most renowned LGBTQ neighborhood.

The Castro is just an amazing, vibrant, colorful, and interesting part of town. It has everything you can think of from bars to restaurants to shopping to sightseeing. Highly recommend taking a day to hang out here. This is also San Francisco's most renowned LGBTQ neighborhood.

Wine country! Sonoma county has beautiful rolling hills dotted with lush vineyards that supply a lot of California's wine. Most vineyards have a tasting room, and all of them will get you to try their "tasting clubs". If you're into getting wine shipped to you on a regular basis right from the vineyard, it's maybe worth considering. Worth checking out if you have the time (and designated driver!) for the trip. To make a day of it, you'd need to get up pretty early, but I've done day-wine-country trips before :)

The Great Highway that eventually turns into Highway 1 bends and curves with the gorgeous California coastline. Take it south for amazing ocean views and secret beaches. Plenty of little restaurants, towns, and photo-op locations along the way.
