This is quintessential New Orleans food and arguably the best fried chicken in the city. Get there at least an hour before they close to make sure you get a seat.

This place is just really good and also always busy. It's high quality caribbean food and you can take the St. Charles streetcar for most of the way.

If you're a coffee/espresso snob (I am), this is one of the very few places in the city to get good coffee. It's also right in the middle of the french quarter by Jackson Square which.

Laid back bar/vietnamese restaurant. One of my favorite spots in the city. Cool employees, they have movie nights, every time I go it seems like they're playing 90's hip-hop or shoegaze. Recommended.

The fly is the perfect spot for a picnic with or without a few adult beverages. It's right next to Audubon park and the zoo and you can watch the giant freighters go by on the Mississippi river.

I highly recommend going check out Mimi's and the Franklin strip in general. Mimi's is 2 stories and the 2nd floor is smoke-free. Cool things happening most nights, next to Big Daddy's and Lost Love.

I know it's not some authentic New Orleans grocery store with character but it's 3 blocks away and is super convenient for easy prepared meals and basic necessities I may not have.
