In between the DeYoung museum and the California Academy of Sciences. More recently added Ferris wheel. Bathrooms behind the bandshell plus museums too Benches for resting and picnicking. Statues and fountains. The bandshell offers a stage for silly kids to dance and occasionally has live or dj music.

This huge newer play park is near to bathrooms( up hill from carousel,), a carousel ( limited hours) , parking lot & street parking options ( enter off Lincoln at Martin Luther King )and a food truck . The play park has big and little kids areas with structures, climbing, swings and cement slides ( tip: bring some cardboard to ride or pray you get lucky someone else left extra)picnic area with tables uphill past bathrooms or bring a blanket if that’s your style as there is plenty of grassy spot to sit

Parking for fee underground below Academy of Science and deYoung Museum. Free street and lot parking along 9th on way to music concourse and lot near Childrens playground can be accessed by near Kezar stadium. My favorite museum free parking is along stow lake toward the museum end for a quick walk to music concourse for Japanese tea garden, botanical garden or the museums. Make sure to read the signs wherever you park and set an alarm for your time limits as it’s easy to have so much fun you can miss your time to move your car.
