We’re gluten free, vegetarian and have lived in Burlington for over 20 years. During that time we’ve discovered a number of restaurants that can cater to our tastes. Here are some of our favorites!
French bistro ambiance. Has a gluten free menu and vegetarian options. Great drink selection and old world charm. A little more expensive, but worth it. You can find this place half way down Church Street.

One of my favorite Thai food restaurants. They have a wonderful selection of vegetarian and GF options including sushi and noodle bowls. A little pricey, but super tasty. We love the Tom Kha noodle bowl! Located on Church Street.

2 College StOne of the few restaurants right on the Waterfront. This place is only open during the summer and is a wonderful place to enjoy a sunset and a drink! They serve a selection of burgers, fish dishes, ice cream, and drinks. Their gluten free and vegetarian options are limited.
If you like beer then this is the place for you! Voted one of the 25 best breweries in the US. They have an excellent selection of craft beers and a surprisingly extensive bar menu. They have basic options for those who are gluten free and/or vegetarian.

A personal favorite. A handmade artisan pizza restaurants with an on-site brewery serving an excellent selection of craft beers. They have the best gluten free, vegetarian/vegan pizzas around!

Another great option for vegetarian and GF food and everyone else. Shalimar’s has yummy, affordable Indian food and it’s just a 7 minute walk from your apt! Great for take out and dine in.

Vermont’s science and nature museum on the waterfront! Don’t let the word “museum” fool you, this is an excellent place for the whole family. Tons for the kids and adults to interact with and do. My family and I love this place and we think yours might too.

An amazing selection of handmade chocolates that’ll wow everyone. Their creations can be pricy, but worth every single penny, super Yum! We send our entire family these chocolates every Christmas.

We usually buy clothes second hand and this shop has clothes for kids, men, women and maternity too. Largest selection for women. My wife always finds something new and reasonably priced and enjoys the shopping experience.
