Food scene
This is the best Peruvian restaurant in Portland, and it's literally right across Lombard from us. It's family-run and owned, so they know how to really awesome traditional dishes like the ceviche carretillero, lomo saltado or aji de gallina. They also have a more contemporary take on the causa, which is also great. Open dinners Tuesday-Saturday and brunch on Sunday. Reservations for dinner are recommended.

Indian-American food cart on Mississippi Ave in a pod next to a German beer hall. You can bring the food into the beer hall (Prost), or buy beer to bring into the food cart pod. Love the platters, and they have paleo, gluten-free, and vegan options.

This restaurant will change any preconceived notions of Russian and Eastern European food. If you plan to make an experience out of it, I recommend the Ruskie Zakuskie experience. Add a few hot items and vodka to share. Nasdarovje!

One of the closest and most vibrant streets near us. It's only a 5-10 minute ride on the Line 4 bus that stops in front of our home. Lots of great bars, restaurants, food carts, cafes, and shops.
