The half-moon shape provides a wider view of Lisbon, and it is possible to see the Igreja da Graça, the Tagus estuary and the other bank, the São Jorge Castle and the roofs of Mouraria. Further down is the low Pombaline, the ruins of the Convento do Carmo, the Serra de Monsanto and Penha de França. These points are signposted on a tile panel in the belvedere, so visitors can identify the monuments.
