This gem of a park in downtown Salem links to 2 other parks via footbridges, creating miles of trails for biking or walking. Heading south will put you on the architectural Peter Courtney Minto Island Bridge over the Willamette Slough and into Minto-Brown Island Park. Heading west over the Willamette River puts you on the old Union Street Railroad Bridge into Wallace Marine Park and West Salem.

My favorite bike path covers 21 miles between the towns of Banks and Vernonia. It runs through idyllic farmland and the lush forests of Stub Stewart State Park.
