Old Town is an Old Western town turned into modern luxury. Nightclubs are off of Drinkwater Blvd., restaurants and bars all along Scottsdale Rd. and beyond, and art galleries throughout. The Waterfront area is a great stroll along a canal with restaurants, fountains, and sculptures. Cartel Coffee Shop is great for work and fun. There's also the infamously beautiful Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall here.

While short, this is a hard trail for non-hikers. Make sure to bring water and wear real shoes! David proposed to me up here, so I have a special love for it. 1.2 miles with a lot of elevation.

Tons of hiking trails are here. I bike to the trailhead sometimes. It is all uphill and is tough on a cruiser but is a great workout. My favorite trail in this preserve is actually Sunrise which you need to drive to but Bell's Pass, Inspiration Point, Gateway Loop, and Tom's Thumb are good trails from the Gateway Trailhead.

Gateway Trailhead - McDowell Sonoran Preserve
18333 N Thompson Peak PkwyTons of hiking trails are here. I bike to the trailhead sometimes. It is all uphill and is tough on a cruiser but is a great workout. My favorite trail in this preserve is actually Sunrise which you need to drive to but Bell's Pass, Inspiration Point, Gateway Loop, and Tom's Thumb are good trails from the Gateway Trailhead.
