Tropical Hideaway is a luxurious boutique style property, offering accommodation in the ‘Tropical Hideaway Villa’, consisting of a fabulous ‘INFINITY STUDIO’ on the lower pool level and an incredible ‘PENTHOUSE SUITE’ encompassing the entire top floor. The spacious ‘POOL HOUSE’ which is fully equipped, has a second mezzanine bedroom and adjoins directly onto the stunning Infinity Pool and ‘PALM and HIBISCUS COTTAGE’ which are both very private and enjoy the most amazing views of the Caribbean Sea.
Set in 2 acres of lush tropical gardens in an elevated hillside position above the famous Princess Margaret Beach and with an incredible panoramic vista overlooking the Caribbean Sea and Admiralty Bay, the views are absolutely stunning and will not disappoint.
Specializing in couples and small groups, Tropical Hideaway can accommodate from 2 to 12 guests in luxurious and very private accommodation, all at affordable and highly competitive prices. All are available to rent either individually or as a collective group and if required, the property can be rented on an exclusive basis, ensuring a completely private and memorable stay.
The Penthouse Suite is our most luxurious accommodation at Tropical Hideaway and offers absolute privacy and such incredible views that quite simply will take your breath away. Some guests on arrival are so overwhelmed they become speechless.

The Penthouse Suite is entered through you own private reception area, just a few steps away from our large and easy accessible car park and garden area. As you walk through the hand carved entrance doors, you are immediately drawn to the large and ornate, cast iron, spiral staircase leading up into the Penthouse Suite. A little to your right is your very own private gym. A spacious, light and airy room containing a Life Fitness professional treadmill and recumbent bike, a workout ball, yoga mats and freestyle cross trainer, a health rider, a vibration exercise training machine and a Tunturi endurance video bike showing the latest bike ride programs. If fitness isn't quite yet on your mind, just climb the few stairs up to the Penthouse Suite and enjoy the ultimate in living space, with such breathtaking views that many say are the 'finest on Bequia'.

At the top of the stairs you enter your indoor living and bedroom area with arguably the biggest and most comfortable bed on the whole of the island. Beautifully made mahogany doors and windows compliment the ambiance and with fully screened closing louvers, you can sleep soundly at night with the knowledge that the rooms are all mosquito free. We have no biting sand flies (no see ums) at Tropical Hideaway and are mosquito free most of the year, except for a few around evening time.

A large walk-in wardrobe provides ample room for all your clothes and an assortment of local books provide interesting reading for anyone wanting to relax in the white leather chairs and sofa.

Open the door into the shower room and you are immediately impacted by the toilet with the ultimate view. Sympathetic and careful design has allowed this room to remain totally open yet remain completely private. The large, natural pebble shower has the same panoramic views as the toilet and the bathroom throughout has been fitted to the highest of standards. The shower even has a sit down seat and to complete the ambience, tropical plants surround the curved and sloping pebble and stone wall. The bathroom has a granite topped, solid oak vanity unit with 'his and her' designer sinks and a full compliment of luxury bathroom toiletries and linen are supplied as standard.

An enormous outdoor living area, measuring around 10.7m (35') square, leads from the shower and bedroom area and this beautiful space offers the best in Caribbean style outdoor living. The kitchen area has a large upright fridge / freezer, sink unit, 2 burner gas hob, ice maker, combination microwave oven, toaster, kettle, cafetiere and a comprehensive range of high quality cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. An ice bucket is supplied and a second ice maker is available in the Pool Bar for your convenience. The granite top 'moon bar' is furnished with two breakfast stools allowing this lovely area to be used for al fresco dining as well as an evening sunset bar.

Two hanging cane chairs are the perfect companions for the stunning moon bar and two matching 'captain' style rocking chairs are nearby. An authentic Thai cart wheel, coffee table sits centrally under the main ocean view arch and this is surrounded by a u shaped rattan seating area suitable for up to 10 people. A large hammock swings below the natural wood roof area, the perfect finishing touch to an already stunning room. As you walk forward a plethora of turquoise blues and greens come into view and with literally the whole of Admiralty Bay and the ocean in front of you, you cannot fail to be impressed. Sunsets and magical 'green flashes' can be stunning and the view of the Infinity pool is incredible.

An outside gas barbecue is available and close by is a second al fresco dining area, complete with a bistro dining set and a wonderful view looking down towards the Infinity pool and the Caribbean Sea.
All our accommodations have the latest 40” flat screen internet TV’s that give access to our in-house entertainment system supplying high definition films, TV, music and internet radio. High speed internet and Wi-Fi is supplied in all areas. Professional quality ceiling fans are positioned over all the beds and for those really hot days when the cooling Caribbean breeze has taken a rest, you can turn on the bedroom air conditioner until the breeze returns. All indoor living areas and bedrooms are fully screened allowing you the convenience of a mosquito free environment with the ambiance of outdoor living and stunning views of the Caribbean Sea.

Located in an elevated hillside position high above the famous Princess Margaret Beach and with an incredible panoramic vista overlooking the Caribbean Sea, Admiralty Bay and the surrounding forested hillsides, the views are absolutely stunning and will not disappoint.
Princess Margaret Beach is the nicest beach on the island. Pristine and uncrowded and a short 20 - 25 minute walk down the road. A few parts of the road are steep. Most people walk down to town, the restaurants or the beach and catch a taxi back. Taxis are cheap and plentiful. Some guests walk both ways and some guests hire a car for a few days to explore the Island. Princess Margaret Beach is ideal for children and adults alike. It is very safe with turquoise blue, warm, calm waters. The beach is stunning with lovely white powdery sand. There is a very nice restaurant on the beach and there are numerous other restaurants and bars on the island. Snorkeling is good on both points at either end of the beach.
The Bequia Boardwalk is now complete allowing you to walk from the beach at Lower Bay over a small headland onto the stunning Princess Margaret Beach. You can then walk over Princess Margaret Beach to the next headland which now has a spectacular boardwalk suspended from the rock face. This connects to the Belmont Walkway, passing several bars, restaurants, the two local dive shops, various small shops and cafes and eventually leads into town.

We originally arrived in the Caribbean in 1996 after making a 3 week transatlantic crossing aboard our sailing yacht 'Rainbow Spirit'. This was the beginning of another adventure and after sailing and exploring the Caribbean Islands for 2 years we eventually bought a 2 acre plot of land on the Island of Bequia. Having already committed to a world circumnavigation, we set sail again in 1998, went through the Panama Canal and spent the next three years traveling around the world with our three daughters. Although we visited hundreds of white sand, sun-drenched tropical islands, we found none of them compared to the special beauty and charm of Bequia. We returned in 2001 and finally made a start on building our 'Tropical Hideaway'.

Building in the Caribbean was never going to be easy and after the frustrations of 2 years turning into 3 years and 3 years turning into 4 years we finally finished construction in 2011. Eight years of full time building and a cost overrun of around 300%. The project was huge, far bigger than we ever imagined, but our hard work, frustrations, pain and suffering eventually paid off and we now have a remarkable property often quoted as having 'the finest views on Bequia, from the finest accommodation on Bequia'.

Our daughters have now left to start their own lives and adventures, returning when time and funds allow. Our eldest daughter is now married and lives in New Zealand. Our middle daughter started the first Spa's and treatment centres on Bequia and is now employed by the rich and famous from all over the world. Our youngest daughter is currently working at a safari lodge in a remote part of Zambia and returns to Tropical Hideaway for the December to April season where she offers her spa treatments and therapy work. As you can see, our wanderlust lifestyle has left a lasting impression on our daughters and they are all enjoying an adventurous and exciting life as we have done.
