All pine chalet on lake, in Tors Cove, 40 min. south of St John's. 1 1/2 stories, wood cathedral ceiling. 2 bedrooms,(1 double and 2 singles). Private, but not remote, on 1 acre of treed land, with lawn and nice rock gardens. Gentle slope at lake for swimming, gravel beach, fire pit.

Near LaManche Park, Ferryland, kayak tours, whale and iceberg boat tours and The East Coast Trail.

Due to the covid- 19 pandemic outbreak we have been taking extra precautions to ensure that all our guests & workers are healthy. We are using extra disinfectant and methods to make sure all surfaces and everything is spic and span so you don't have to worry !

The cabin is 30 mi south of St. John's near Tors Cove. IT is on its own acre of land on the lake (called Tors Cove Pond). There is a small lawn area and also rock gardens on property. It has lake frontage, and the water does not get deep too quickly and has a firm bottom. The last mile is gravel road, no problem for most vehicles, but may be smoother at some times than others. No smoking inside the cabin please.

The cabin has an open concept downstairs with a fully equipped kitchen (dishes, pots, pans, toaster, coffee maker, staples and a few spices), living room (double sofa bed and front opening wood stove), and eating area.

Bring a bundle or two of dry hardwood (at most gas bars) to mix in with the spruce (may be a bit green) there if you want a good fire in wood stove. There is a scrap lumber in driveway for beach fires.

There are 2 bedrooms upstairs one with double bed, one with two singles. Bathroom is also upstairs and has a tub and shower. Cabin is 24x26 with vertical wood siding and pine interior with NL and Mexican collectibles, wall hangings etc. Large front windows and deck give a beautiful view of the lake. There is a gas BBQ on the front deck.

All linens and towels are there. Pots and pans, dishes, cutlery, etc. Even staples such as sugar, salt, pepper, certain spices, tea bags, coffee filters, etc. In the fridge there's often margarine, ketchup, relish, mustard, bbq sauce and ice, and also always enough drinking water in pantry. There is a small color TV with CBC only, and a radio. Bring your suitcase, some food and a toothbrush and you're all set. Any other questions, just ask.

It is a 3 mil to the small village of Tors Cove (convenience-type store and gas), 12 mil to a good size grocery store (Bay Bulls) and 30 mi to St John’s, only 45 min away with all it’s attractions and events. There is a laundromat in Burnt Cove (4 miles away) and one in Witless Bay (8 miles). Restaurants are in Witless Bay and Cape Broyle. Lots to do in the area. There are boat tours of whales, puffins and icebergs nearby (I recommend Seabird Tours, 334-2098). Very close too is LaManche Prov Pk and the East Coast Trail through the abandoned community, etc. – very interesting. The scenic Irish Loop drive takes you around the southern Avalon with Lord Baltimores historic archeological dig and museum at Ferryland, the wilderness area (caribou,etc.) and and close-up whale watching from St Vincent’s beach.
