This cozy home, built in 1920, has been lovingly updated and renovated, and features modern appliances along with many restored historical details including a claw foot tub/shower, original farm sink, high ceilings, crown molding, and charm!. It is ideally located next to the bike/ped path that leads to the river and downtown (and two sturdy bikes are included for your use). Its private and quiet and just a sweet place to spend your time in Missoula.

The home is a classic Missoula bungalow with loads of character and a very convenient location in a quiet blue-collar neighborhood, close to downtown and to Missoula's favorite grocery stores, breweries, restaurants, etc.

The main floor features hardwood floors with Persian rugs; bedroom with a queen bed and connecting bath; a cozy living room with flat screen TV/DVD and stereo; separate dining room, and an office with an L-desk for a private workspace, or can be used as a 2nd bedroom if you don't mind sleeping on the floor and bring your own bedding and pad.

The fully stocked kitchen is bright and sunny, with a breakfast nook and retro refrigerator. Fresh coffee grounds and half&half provided to get you through a couple of days.

Fast wireless available throughout the house, and Roku available on the TV.

The front porch is a perfect shady spot for morning coffee while the back deck provides outdoor dining space and privacy.

There is an upstairs dormer and basement with laundry, but neither are available to guests (because the 1920 staircases were not built to code, ha!).

PETS: You are welcome to bring your furry friend, but please let me know. I allow only one dog and please don't let him/her on the furniture or bed. I do not charge a pet fee or cleaning fee, so expect you to leave the home clean and tidy, especially after pets. Towels will be provided for cleaning dirty paws, and poo bags for picking that up from the yard, which is fenced in the back.

4th street is a very quiet street in a working-class neighborhood with a treed boulevard and round-abouts for slowing what little traffic comes by. The house is 1 block from the Clark Fork River trail and McCormick Park; 1.5 miles from the center of downtown Missoula, or a 10-minute bike ride along the river to the University of Montana campus. Missoula's favorite grocery stores, bakeries, and brew pubs are just a few blocks away as well.

I've lived in Missoula for almost 50 years and despite having traveled much of the world, I still can't imagine anywhere else I would want to live. I spent my 30-year career planning and leading international tours, throughout Europe and South America, the Poles and the Middle East. After retiring from that, I became the Executive Director of the International Choral Festival in Missoula, and now am fully retired, well, at least from paid employment. I now spend my time and energy volunteering for local non-profit boards, or hiking, skiing, biking, singing with our local symphony chorale, and enjoying my family and sweet dog Carmelita.

Guests can check themselves in - keys are stored in a lock box and guests will be sent the code a few days before arrival. I won't bother you unless you need something or have questions - I am a phone call away and live nearby. If your stay is longer than a few days however, I may come by to water the flowers, mow the lawn, etc., but would always give you advance notice.
