Our charming boutique hotel was originally built in 1875. While extensive renovations have been done it has retained its old world charm. It is a delightful relaxing place for anglers and families to stay. Our rooms all provide a beautiful view overlooking the town itself, local rolling hills or beyond to the banks of the spectacular Oreti River which is only a short walk away. Secure bike storage is available for our cycling guests.

Originally from Canada, we had been living for many years in Sydney, Australia. We discovered Lumsden on a Christmas vacation about 15 years ago and have been holidaying here ever since. More than a year ago, we decided to retire from our busy lives and relocate to this gorgeous place and are now lucky enough to call this beautiful town of Lumsden home.
We hope your visit to this wonderful part of the South Island is special for you and we look forward to hosting you in our historic hotel as you experience all that Lumsden and surrounds have to offer.
