The main attraction of the premise - Cengal House, is a studied composition of lines and edges – a striated, gravity-defying C-shaped box of volume perched lightly on top of a natural slope. On one side, a raw concrete wall rises above the building height – it serves as the house's façade but also functions as a partition that separates the comfortable interior from the natural outdoors.
On the other side, the main spaces are visually extended to the outdoors via borrowed views. The generous natural wilderness is co-opted into the living platform – an open platform without any vertical planes. The dining room tucked next to the open kitchen, is a glass box within the large C-shaped volume.
An art gallery, an open space for gathering, demarcated only by full-height sliding glass doors, turns out as bright as a lantern at night from its entire spatial composition.
