The basement is locked off and reserved for my living quarters. I access this via a private outdoor entrance. Exclusive use and privacy is given to all other areas.

Welcome to my listing !! This is a rustic, yet elegant, Amish crafted log cabin. Amenities include 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths. There is one king bed in the master bedroom downstairs (1st floor) , one queen bed in one upstairs bedroom and one double bed in the second upstairs bedroom. The master bedroom includes a gas fireplace for added coziness and romanticism sure to ease the mind as well as an attached large master bath.

Additional sleeping options include a double sleeper sofa in the "Bears Den" and the awesome bunkhouse. The sleeper sofa in the "Bears Den" is where you can drift off next to the ambiance of a cozy electric fireplace. The bunkhouse is an upper level in the upstairs bedroom that has two twin mattresses set with sleeping bags for the kids to snuggle into (best for children 8 and up and fun adults like this too).

The kitchen is an open layout and adjacent to the great room. It has an island and a 2 place sitting bar. The kitchen table seats six. New in Jan 2020 is granite kitchen counter tops and a unique hammered copper farmhouse sink.

I offer on site hot stone, Swedish and relaxation massages by Licensed Massage Therapist Katie. Inquire for rates! (subject to availability. Please try to book appx. three weeks in advance)

For the fun spirited, feel free to pitch tents in the woods around the cabin during the warmer months. One two-person tent is provided for your use and convenience(reserve in advance). An outdoor fire ring is great for those summertime bonfires and smores.

I have recently added a 3D archery range for any archery enthusiast wanting to advance their skills. 10,20, 30 yard range available with raccoon, coyote and deer.

Indulge in the outdoor rain shower! Try out invigorating hot/cold therapy in conjunction with the hot tub. (Shower operational May 15-Sept 15 only)

Breakfast ready? bring the buckaroos running by ringing the triangle dinner bell. Then, swing your legs into the rugged saddle bar stools while savoring your favorite western entrees. Outside, brand your steaks on the grill with the Wyoming bucking horse brand!

A wonderful, spacious great room with a river rock chimney rises 28 feet to the ceiling! The vintage ski lodge loft is where après' skiing you can enjoy a specialty themed drink like "Snow Shoe" or "Pain Killer". The ski loft is complete with a 1950's vintage ski lift chair from Breckenridge, CO! It's situated neatly in front of a daunting ski slope mural that will make you feel as if you are really there!!

An outdoor stone fireplace graces the large wrap around deck for all your social gatherings. The fireplace reaches towards the sky 35 feet. It is adorned with twenty river rocks from the Yellowstone River commemorating the historic 1988 wildfires of Yellowstone National Park . A brand new (as of Aug 2018) Agean , 6 person hut tub with water spouts is on the deck situated in front of the outdoor fireplace (Outdoor quiet hours 11pm-7am). Pour a glass of wine and it doesn't get much more romantic, or relaxing, than this!

Forgot your wine? Wine is available on-site for a 10$ per bottle donation.

A mature, hardwood forest encompasses the lodge (three acres owned, but part of a larger forest) with a small creek to the rear. A hammock swings from the towering trees near the creek. It is secluded in the summer and sits about 250 feet from the road.

There is central air, heat pump furnace, dishwasher, coffee maker, keurig and regular, toaster, iron with ironing board, microwave, appliances, blender, gas grill, 65 inch LED Smart TV in great room and 32 inch LCD in master bedroom (both with DVD players), internet, DVD library, utensils, pots, pans, griddle, crock pot, linens, towels, all bedding provided, blankets provided, dart board(in garage) and board games.

A balcony off the upper bedroom is great for the morning coffee/tea. There is a 2 1/2 car attached garage (only one spot in the garage is open for parking). Firewood will be stocked in plenty and is located under the deck by the back steps.

The full finished basement is where I reside. It’s locked off from the rest of the residence. I access this through an private outside entrance/exit. Complete and total privacy of the guest is given and respected.

The laundry room is in the basement and if needed it can be arranged to be used.

There is a 16x24 foot outdoor patio with patio lounge chairs, table and outdoor fireplace.

Enjoy the Ansel Adams art display and as you browse, under your feet you will find USGS Benchmarks embedded in the natural slate floor. These are of your favorite peaks; Longs, Whitney, Clingmans Dome, Grand Teton and others.

The master bathroom spa tub is surrounded by authentic petroglyphs etched in the tile which are located in several western parks such as Arches, Canyonlands and Death Valley. There are plenty of interesting books and periodicals on hand to waste away a relaxing weekend, or week, here at the Hickory Creek Lodge.

Area activities within 35 minutes of lodge include; ECO corridor in Springfield (bouldering, whitewater kayaking, biking), Mad River Mt ski resort, Mad River canoeing/tubing/kayaking (with rentals or use my canoe, paddles and PFDs), renowned Mad River trout fishing, Piatt Castles, Zip Lining at Markin Farms, Ohio Caverns, quaint shops in West Liberty, Urbana and Yellow Springs, Youngs Jersey Dairy (putt-putt, dining, petting farm), Amish Country tours, Cinemas, Marmon Valley Farms (horseback riding/wagon rides) Kiser Lake, John Bryan, Indian Lake and Buck Creek State Parks and Glen Helen Nature Preserve for fishing, boating, rock climbing, Rappelling, hiking and biking. There are many paved bike trails branching out from Urbana and Springfield where one can travel miles.

The nearest town of Urbana is appx. 12 min from the lodge with all fast food restaurants, bistros, hometown restaurants, super Walmart, hospital, Kroger, cozy downtown, bowling alley, and all basic life needs.

Within 1 hour are; Urban Krag indoor rock climbing, U.S. Air Force museum, Wright Patterson Air force base, casinos, Dayton and Columbus International Airports, Columbus Zoo, COSI, Ervin J. Nutter Center and Nationwide Arena for major concerts. Major shopping/dining/night clubs in Dayton and Columbus.

Within 2 hours are ; Great American Ball Park (Cincinnati Reds), Ohio Riverboat gambling, Newport Aquarium, waterparks, Kings Island Amusement Park, the famous Hocking Hills Region of Ohio.

This is truly a one of a kind getaway and has been a life passion for me that I devoted many hours of hard labor to. Its my tribute to our country's national parks and wonderlands.

Upon arrival you can browse the welcome guide with area brochures, maps, dining suggestions and menus. This is a newer home completed in 2011.

This is a non -smoking residence (pets will be accepted on a case by case basis with a 10$ cleaning fee per dog). Please "Like" the Hickory Creek Lodge on site with a face.

I very much enjoy the history of the western US and specifically National Parks. I am an avid book reader on these topics.

I am currently a deputy sheriff, however have been a horse wrangler, hunting guide, stage coach driver, rafting guide and National Park Service Ranger. I also ski patrol in my leisure time.
