A wooden single-storied cottage (about 311 sq.ft.) is located at a hill within 10+ minutes of walk from Yakushima airport. You can enjoy the surrounding garden where you can view the mountains and the sea and enjoy wild creatures such as Yakushima deer and Yakushima Macaques. From the two ports Miyanoura and Anbou, the route bus service takes about 20 minutes to the nearest bus stop.

Ruang
A wooden single-storied cottage (about 311 sq.ft.) is your place to stay. Its floor, wall, and ceiling are made with cedar plates and it is designed to be suitable for tea ceremony. The cottage is equipped with a unit bathroom, a mini kitchen with an IH cooking heater and a small refrigerator, and some cookware and tableware, which can be freely used by the guest. There are shops within five minutes of walk where foods and drinks can be purchased.

There are shops and restaurants within a walking distance from the cottage. This area is a relatively conveniant place to live within the island of Yakushima. The cottage is surrounded by woods and there is no other house except a small second house.

After his retirement from the university, Taiichi moved to Yakushima with his wife and started building their own house as well as the surrounding garden. During the construction, they were living in the small cottage, which was originally built as their temporary house. After they finished the main (orange) house and moved to there, they decided to use the cottage as a guest house and improved it to make it comfortable for the guests. Now that most initial construction projects are over, Taiichi is enjoying the atmosphere of Yakushima, through DIY, gardening, trekking, swimming, etc., while his wife is sending an artist life. They love to share the wonder of Yakushima with the cottage guests, namely, with you. Taiichi is also a reporter for a web journal and delivers hot topics of Yakushima through the Internet.
